When I was in college, I had a fellow classmate who was a dyed-in-the-wool Chevy dude. Had a big jacked up 4x4 Chev and his wife had a 'Yota 4Runner. Over the winter, he decides to re-do the 350 in his truck and wound up buying an Eagle wagon as backup. He thought it was a cheap pile of junk but figured it was cheap and could haul lots of stuff. He wound up replacing the carb on it and doing all 4 brakes but nothing much after that.
During this winter we got a heavy dump of snow, and jokingly I told Paul that he should carry chains and jumper cables. When he asked me why, I simply replied with "When it happens, you'll know."
The next day, Paul doesn't show up to class until almost 11:30. When the instructor asked what happened, Paul entertained the entire class about how he had to pull SIX cars/trucks/everything out of the ditch on the way to class. Everybody would see that Eagle Wagon coming, and most folks around here know them for their legendary wintertime prowess and would flag him down.
At lunch Paul glares at me..... "You knew this would happen!"
Yeah Did.
A few months later as our course is winding up, Paul informs all of us that the Eagle had really grown on him and he and his wife decided to sell the 4Runner and keep the wagon.
