Hey Norm!

Re: "Everyone has a Camaro or Mustang sitting in his yard these days"

I must not be everyone as my yard has 2 Besasies, 1 MB 420SEL, 1 MB 450SL, 2 FXXd wheelchair vans, a SC/360, a Chevy--er--AMC van, and my wife's FXXd Freestyle. If it was on the road, the SC would probably get called a Falcon, Dart, or some such thing. It's already been called a Mopar--because Chrysler owned AMC...  I've already been asked what the Besasie X3 (the yellow one) started out as and someone even told me it was a '59 Buick!

Camaro? Mustang? What's that???

I beat a speeding ticket, err, um, I mean traffic ticket, when the police officer wrote Dodge Coronet when I got stopped in one of my Machines back in the '70s

I got Coronet-ed the other day.  I just cheerily said "Nope, AMC Rebel".  You should have seen the guy's jaw drop.  It was like I had said it was a Maserati or something.  What's funny is, the person I was there to talk to decided to one-up me by interjecting that she had just sold her 67 Corvette to her daughter. Yeah, I don't mind someone having to pull out the split-window Corvette to one-up the G-car.  That's alright.
Personally, I don't think Rebels look anything like Coronets.

too bad the 67 isn't a split window  Shocked

the split window was a 63, one year only  Wink

My mistake.  Yeah, the 67 was the stingray style that I like.  I must have misheard the year that she said and didn't think too hard about it when I was relating it.  She was describing it as having the split windows...  Oh well, it's the general idea at least...

Nothing.

But he was driving a Javelin AMX.

That's like someone calling a Dart a Viper or something.  Same company, but not a thing alike.

Nothing wrong with Matadors.  After all, they're Rebels' successors and spiritual soul mates. Wink
