Challenger was no Contender for the Jav
11/01/09 at 02:52:50

Don't have any clue what the guy was thinking as he sat there in his brand new Challenger, revving the engine... I would have thought that since he pulled to the light after me, he would have seen the 14"meats back there, and definitely could hear the rumble of my big block over his stock exhaust. I looked around and didn't spot the POPO anywhere so when the light turned green I stabbed the throttle from idle and started laughing as he slipped from my view to appear in the rearview as a blurry spot... Waited at the next light for him but he didn't pull up even to the line again.. I guess he didn't want anymore of the amx Taillights.

Yes, Frog has a Chevy big block in his AMX.  Ask him why. If he could blow away the same jerks that were partially responsible for his mill switch decision with the mill of choice he now runs in his AMX that would be just desserts. Wink

I'm guessing that Challenger was NOT a SRT8.  Otherwise, the Chevy power would have to be a built big block.  As the owner of a SRT8 Charger and a 500 HP AMC, ask me how I know.

I don't at all see a factory SRT8 at 4100 lbs+ and what- 425 hp- being in the 9's and I'm sure a true 500hp AMX, regardless of engine manufacturer of origin would have no trouble putting an SRT8 away ( as long as traction was dialed in ). A Hennessey Challenger would be a different story at 620 plus hp.
