Summit ship times
11/15/09 at 16:36:14

Guys - Anyone notice that the ship time for AMC parts from Summit is starting to increase?

I ordered a set of Federal Mogul pistons, that took 1 month.  I decided to order a set of Keith
Black Cast pistons to compare to the Federal Moguls, that's going to take a month.

I ordered the Canton oilpan at the beginning of this month, with expected arrival of 11/22, now
that's been pushed back to 12/27!

Kinda odd.  I wonder if I paid full retail, I'd receive it sooner......

Probably just my luck.....

If you can locate a Keystone distributor in the area, try them. They supply a lot of the engine builders and speed shops, on the East Coast. They only sell to businesses. But, you can get your stuff quickly.
I got the Canton pan and internal pickup two years ago for a whopping $350.00. The speed shop I used went under, but I know they got the pars from Keystone.

The local speed shop in my area was a Keystone dist, but unfortunately, they went under last
year.   Summit's price for the pan and pickup with handling costs is $407.

Maybe it's just some things from vendors are getting hard to get....  When I put an order in with Summit
back in October, I also ordered some valve cover gaskets from SCE for my uncles 72 Vette.
Now you'd think a pair of 350 SBC gaskets would  be no problem, but I just sent in the card
back to Summit to cancel the order.  They haven't been able to get them!
