The car at the namdra nats was probably the pfister car...it was just painted to look like a pro stocker...not the real deal...I've been to every namdra nats since 87 and don't remember seeing a m-k car but that doesn't mean there wasn't one there...

Oops I hope I didn't sound like I was saying the Hornet hatchback was any of these cars. Just thought I would mention it as it was the only other Prostock Hornet hatch back out there that I know of. And it was crashed.

John Pfister car was not a Prostock. Many years ago me and my friend Mark helped out John on his Hornet when he had a problem on a Friday night before the AMC National when it was still at Great Lakes dragaway. I always thought it was kinda neat cause he was running a AMC 20 in the rear with no problems that I knew of.

Hurst 390, unfortunately that seems to be the only pic of the Concord.

I like how the 77 Hornet is done up for the 77 AMX that year Smiley  As for Wally's concord, I see it has a 79 Grille, was it a 79 car? And is Mark Ipsen's "80" Concord made by him? Or? Always wondering that, since there is no such car as a 80 Concord hatchback, but it does look COOL Smiley I am guessing that is your friend Mark,  that you spoke of  Al?                Now back to the car the Scheniders have,  What Stuart had said, is that it had an all new chassis, built so it runs straight as an arrow, easy to drive, and run fast and steady.  So I do not think it had the leftover chassis from the Pfister car, However I can be wrong.     As for attending NAMDRA shows, I started in 88, at 16.     I just could not convince my Hudson-Rambler  dad, to go before  that Grin   I even attended the NAMDRA nationals in 95 for my Honeymoon Grin We had a blast, but went to the room early Wink Wink SH

Yes Mark is my friend. The front end is fiberglass and that's how Mark built it. ( Mr Fiberglass, I believe that was the same stuff wally used) It even has the taillights from those years.  I don't have any digital pics to post of his car. He is interested in how Wally's Car looked,  because he is wanting to paint it R/W/B cause no one has a clue what it is. The best most people can do is NOVA... Grin

I wonder if the spoiler made it faster, slowed him down, or no difference.

Not enough photos from the last few years of Wallys Hornet.

I heard tha AMC was Good for giving Wally body part, I wonder if they sent him the 80 front end stuff

According to an older article I have....."Booth's Hornet was renamed an AMX in 1978, then, with a new grill the next year, called a Concord. In a departure from todays practices, Booth ran the same basic chassis and body panels(with periodic modifications aand updates) from 1973 through his final season in 1979"  This clip is next to the same picture of the car that Jim L. posted.

Dr AMC I think that would sure be pretty neat if they were, too bad no engine pics were done at the same exact time.   J-GT of coarse we are interested, well at least I am anyway.        So Wally's car was a rename in 78, was it a 78 AMX front and taillight treatment too? Then in 79 it only would have had a grille and front Valance job to make it a 79 Concord Hatchback. SH
