We got dooshed on by Spohn Suspension...

Well, after having a set of control arms sitting at Steve Spohn's place [www.spohn.net] thinking he was gonna make up some tubular arms for the AMC world, I finally told him to chit or get off the pot. And since he asked for my address to send the stock arms back to me, I guess he's getting off the pot. In his world it seems to be more important to make BS like suspension parts for f'n Vegas and Monzas [some of his latest editions], instead of keeping his word to me about making AMC arms. I guess he just got too f'n big for his own britches. Well, he and his business can go take a flying crappity smack off a bridge. Oh well, back to the drawing board...

Yup. Passed over for Vegas. N' I'm not talking about tube framed pro street/pro stock kinda cars. I'm talking about replacement parts for STOCK chassis Vegas.

Wow now I know where to get a set of tubular A arms for my I bought it new 20K mile Cosworth Vega should I one day want to tear the stock front suspension out of it and replace it with Spohns stuff! In fact I think I will go down and start tearing it apart right now................NOT! Geeze lucky me no tubular A arms for a car that I would put them on and tubular A arms for one I would never touch. GL

There's nothing wrong with Vegas or Monzas, but their total market vs all the AMC's is miniscule. On the other hand Spohn must me supplying primarily to racers and there are Monza racecars and I'm guessing, if I recall correct, that the suspension and chassis was an upsized and updated version of the Vega base. So if you make a suspension upgrade for the Monza might as well include what Vegas are left ( drag race V-8? ).Anyways, don't want to get too bitter over it, there has to be other manufacturers that can see the light. Maybe hooking up with an engineer or two and then going to local machine and fabrication shops could accomplish the same thing on a limited production scale. A hell of alot more leg work though.

The thing that really pizzes me off is that he had this project "in the works" for over 2 years, and I didn't really bother him about it. Then I ask about progress, he gets all pizzy about it, and ships my arms back to me like I ordered him to bop something out in a week or something. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I shoulda had SOMETHING to show for 2 years of my life...

Sorry Bob, didn't even see your reply here when I asked about V8 Vegas. Only thing I can think of is it's for modifiers that are GOING to convert 'em and this is a start. Otherwise, makes zero sense.
