I think it is pretty ignorant in any case to laugh at someone elses misfortune. Leaving a valuable car parked outside at home is not the same as leaving it at a protected auction under a tent.

It is kinda like he just said, at the auction, they are there for a few days, and have to have some place to be for the time being.  Same as at a car show, If we all left our valuables inside, how and who would attend a show? What would there be to see? ANd how would the event be with no cars?  It is sometimes a big stress factor just to bring a car out, but I feel I have to take them out at some point, and I only use an open trailer, so that AMC's are still in the standard public eye. Or they WILL be forgotten.  I hope no-one laughs at me, if I get caught in a Hail storm, or those Tornados, that I had a nice AMX on the trailer in. Remember those, in June it will be 2 years? I was at WI Dells, and traveling to Jefferson for an AMO show. Flooded everthing right out. High stress weekend for sure.          Ok enough from me on it,   Hope those folks are able to recover their losses, however alot of blood sweat and tears can't be paid for unfortunately, no matter what brand they like, they are just like us, loving car owners. You should see them up close, we have a few to repair and some are really damaged and others have the paint rubbed off. Poles stuck in them, a corvette with the rear hacked off. Ugly.

Just sad to hear Tony, sometimes the stuff is unreplaceable, Original can never be original again.    The year was 2008 Early June. Hope all your stuff survived the mess of water. My whole back of truck was full of water everywhere, and I had a topper. The AMX and truck got water all over on the interior from such high side winds. At least the debris didn't make any large marks. That was good.  But my storm happenings, are very small compared to the R-S auction folks, they must be just sick. SH

The cars were inside a huge tent and its not funny as alotta muscle cars were damaged.& hurst69amx I see you own more than one car so I'm sure you'd be pissed if something were to happen to  one of them.

I restored the black 62 B-code 406 4-speeed Galaxie about six years ago that is in the pictures and was shown on several news reports. The owner swore he was going to keep it in his personal collection,(he has a  collector car dealership here, mainly Fords..Lightweights, Shelby GT 350's & 500's...).  I guess he picked the wrong time to let go of it.  It looks like it went through a war now. Those tent poles beat the $#@* out of it.  Really sad, it was rough but a rust free car that still had all the original hard to find parts still with it, as well as being the earliest known B-code to have been produced. :' Sad

Quote from IAM on 01/27/10 at 01:57:22:
No problem, Mike, thanks. Too bad all the cars couldn't fit inside a building.  Only so much room. Means that if in the tents ol' Ma Nature can pull a number. Alot of the damage looks like the tent structures themselves damaging the cars.

steve

 I don't think they have a building on site.only tents.Same,ibelieve for BJ.
