Now if they get more T/A Javelins, it'll be a great event. I plan to be there--inside turn 5.

I remember seeing 1 Javelin several years ago, too. If both those you listed show up that'll be 2 more than they usually have...

I have one picture of it from way back when, it was a '70 R/W/B car and it was pretty rough looking. The front fenders were widened but not the same way that the Donohue cars had been done? I've alwayse wondered about it's history. Huh
It was a pretty low buck effort compared to the other big money cars that attend this deal.

I think I've seen the car y'all are talking about.  There was a R/W/B 70 there in Sept of 1997 when I took my AMX up there.  The car was owned/driven by Dick Kantrud, I think.  Its a 70, but NOT a real Penske car from the 70 season.  Looked like a 1980s A-sedan or GT-1 car.   I have a few pics of it blowing its guts out on the front straight.........just like my AMX did.  embarrassed

Kinda too bad they both puked, and nothing since 97.   Maybe the 2 folks from MN would consider bringing down the 69 AMX  ,and the 79 AMX for it. Would really be great to have a bit more AMC on thetrack for that event. SH

When I was there in 1997, it was a VSCDA vintage event.  There was also a yellow AMX there, had some strange pieces on it.... Mike Somenoe....can't remember his name.  dry-sumped, a Ford 9" and rear discs, but not 'correct' for a vintage car.  Seems he blew up before I did!   Grin  All in all, not a good weekend for the home team!

Def is! And the actual car makes it pretty cool too Smiley They have it at BIR for some things, the owner is a driving instructor as well.   Hopefully there will be some others that come forward fro a Mark tribute Smiley KLvn8r, possibly sometime you can make it this far up again to race, and when you do, it would be nice to meet you. If there is any interest I’d be happy to host a little "grilled meat and beverage event" at the track for any AMCr’s that attend. Huh
I live only a few high-speed bursts from the track. Grin

Everybody’s a comedian. Roll Eyes Grin
I would say wine and cheese which is probably more common at this thing, but this is a Rambler crowd so burgers and beer (hopefully bought on sale) are probably more appropriate.  Cool
