Hello,
Its been a while but I have slowly been working on the Jav. The linkage on the shifter is one of the obstacles that prohibits her from being roadworthy. In order to shift we must shift from the linkage within the engine compartment. The shifter lever is not the problem, leaving the shift tubes to be the only problem. I can "shift" the lever and that moves the first two tubes, but not the last.
That means the bottom tube is the problem, i think I've found what is creating its immobility. On both sides of the tube there are holes and then a slot within the hole like this:
My Question is what is supposed to go into them. The TSM is pretty fuzzy on this topic, and the parts catalog isn't any better.
I was able to stick a nail i the hole and it shifted the trans but i think it was only the first 3 speeds and not neutral/reverse.
Thanks,
Dan B.
