The youtube video has a comment attached that the car is a fake. I had read somewhere that the car in the street scenes was a 360 but the loop-the-loop car was a six cyl as it had better weight balance. Also that the driver was laying down in the centre so the steering had to be moved too.
Plus I also read that the car is in a museum in England.

Anyone know more ?

Cool pics Jim
You have so much to show in the archives, that is very nice of you! Remember that car was at the NAMDRA show, it was I think 99. Was the 360 2bbl reg wheel well version, but the fellow mentioned that the "other" big whellwell car was at a Farm in Iowa someplace. Notice they were even selling Cragars in the showroom
I love the Cragars

We don't really want to think that, but, it does look awefully suspicious, don't it. Maybe they welded alot of braces underneath, at least I hope that is the case. Sure does Look GM in the air though. Even looks like the rear is coil sprung

I have a dealer promo booklet "American thrill Show" that shows the Hornet, The "jump car" was six cylinder 258 driven by Jay Milligan. The book says that the stunt went so well that they wanted to do it again because it looked "to perfect" Jay said suprisingly "NO" The car also had a large wheel at the back to assist in the roll. the car had two dummies in the car to look like James and the sherrif. while Jay sat in the middle steering.
Also another thing one of the Camera cars was a 74 Hornet coupe with the hatch removed and a $100,000 Panavision camera fitted. If you get the DVD version of the film "The man with the golden gun" there is a section in the extras worth watching.
And for the Australians theres a few Torana's and Kingswoods in the chase scenes as well
