Looking good! Did you coat your pipes with something?

Got my tailpipes made yesterday.
I fit the sections in and tacked them in place.

Finished welding the tailpipe sections and mounting tabs together.

Also have them installed back on the car. Just have to weld the muffler to the tailpipes and it'll be done.

very nice.....I was thinking of doing something like that with my AMX Steve

but either you installed your American motors sign upside down, or I installed mine upside down  Cheesy Grin

but seriously though, was this all custom bent? what size was it......sorry for all the questions, I've been following the thread "somewhat"

Rebel Machine, I have just painted the pipes with some high heat exhaust paint.

Those tail pipes look good rambling_rebel, gives me a good idea what mine should look like. You might want to consider using a couple of flanges between the mufflers and the tail pipes, that way you can drop the centre section of the exhaust if you need to take the tranny out.

I bought the 'X' pipe from Jegs and the tailpipes from Hogan Performance (they're '70 Chevelle pipes). They didn't work as I'd hoped so I sectioned in the bends where needed then bought two 28" x 3" right angle sections for the tube going out below the bumper.

My sign was pole mounted so the side on the concrete has the mounts. One of these days I'd like to make a frame to hold it horizontal.

Here is stage 1 of my exhaust complete:

I want to get the thing running so I'm going to leave the tail pipes until a later date.

Nice work, mate. I'm impressed. Smiley

You'll probably get sick of the droning with the exhaust under the diff like that. Probably sound tough though. Smiley

Had my first lesson with the headers, "they are low", scraped them on my first trip out of the driveway at home.

Bit of a blast from the past, with all of the other engine issues, finishing the exhaust had taken a bit of a back seat.

Anyway, decided to take a break from looking for oil leaks and knocked this up today:

One to go.

Here is the other one prior to paint:

All done:

Rear view:

Should work a bit better than the old twin 2" press bent system with these fancy tailpipes:
