Sittin at the stop light on 3 lane headed out of town, this decked out Yota like mid to early 80's was reving up his engine n creeping forward . . . Mind you my truck is full of dents and has some rust its nothing special to look at . . .
So i could see the cross light went yellow I reved the lil'AMC 2.5er up to 3,000rpm n held it right there dude gets a real mean look on his face i crack a slight smerk on green i slammed it down and let go the clutch the Manche spun 3-5ft grabbed and launched harder then i ever thought it would, I jumped right out ahead of him but he started to walk up on me I slammed it into second about 5200rpm and started pulling away dropped it into 3rd at 4,800rpm and old Jeep just kept right a pulling away tho not as quick as it once was so i knew it was running out of steam hit 4th at 4,500rpm by this point he was about 3ish car lengths behind me I kept it slammed till sun prairie, As i wnet down the ramp i noticed his BLUE head lights quiet a ways back . . .
I pulled into the quick trip off of main street to fuel he darts by turns around and pulls in an ask's "what you got in there a 4.0 ?" 6 i said " nah just a Rambler 2.5 "

he was all

i popped the hood and showed him . . .
I said "You just got smoked by an all stock 22 year old truck with 195 thousand miles on it build by a manufacturer that has been out business for over 20 years"
His reply "Jeep is still around"
Me "yes Chrysler jeep is still around but American Motors jeep isn't"
He looked at me like i was crazy said "cool neat truck" and walked away
Judging by the distance he fell behind he must have backed off once i hit or shortly after i hit 4th gear
Wished i had that 290/5spd/4.10s but old 2.5/4spd/3.73s held its own
