I have a 71 Javelin I'm putting the chrome back on the hood. I bought the fasteners from APD, but forgot how they went into the channel. Everytime I put the chrome on the hood and tighten them, the chrome pops off. I've tried them both ways, the spring up and the spring down. Any pics or advice would be appreciated.

I looked at the picture on the APD website. bend the spring out so the whole thing is about twice as long. Then the spring should hold tension in the same direction as when the fastener is being tightened.
