71-74 Javelin Headers

Doing a few upgrades to the Jav this winter and one will be headers...used to hate them as they always seemed to leak so thought I'd see if any of you folks find any particular brand that is fairly decent quality?

I know shorties are history, but was wondering if some brands don't hang down as far as others...when I install my Independent Front Suspension I will be lowering the car a wee bit a as well.

Your input is greatly appreciated!

"Decent Quality" and tucked for ground clearance??? Nope..... undecided

Hedmans tuck up pretty tight but have terrible flanges and will cause interference with aluminum aftermarket heads, external oil lines and possibly starters....

Hooker Super Comps have decent quality but hang Ridiculously low....... so do the regular comps.....

For a street car that your going to lower the stance on...... IMO you have three options...

1. Make your own or pay for custom
2. Find someone sellin Eddy Shortys (more for looks than performance which with a street car is what I am assuming your going for anyway)
3. Try the hedmans with the Remflex gaskets and hope for the best...... ( will still probably drag the collector flange often) but you can cut that off and use a band style clamp to connect headers to pipe....

To be honest, I'd say screw the headers, focus on lowering the car with maybe just WSC coilovers in front and custom Eaton/Detroit springs in back. Then use the extra money to get some different wheels.

Otherwise, this car has Hedman long tube headers, Control Freak Suspension, a Milodon Road Race pan, and killer wheels.
