Like Tom said, If anyone wants to leave cars at the track the night before or needs any assistants we have many AMCer's in the area that can help.
The Tri-State Posse will be on hand and I am excited to bring back my 74 AMX after many years.

With date not until the end of July, hopefully 2 full months will be enough time for people to "recover" from the GAD event and make plans to attend BOTH events....  In addition, it would be nice if those who said they would not go back to Cecil for one reason or another or feel it is just too far away make the trip to Mason-Dixon (about 2 hours west of Cecil County) this year for what promises to be a "can't-miss" event and well worth the trip.

Nah, not at all man, there is just a handful of us close friends that all meet at GAD and trash talk the entire year leading up to it and we post a lot bickering back and forth having fun on the thread, thats all, nothing else to it.... Go look at all the GAD thread pages and you will see 90 percent of the posts all come from about 6 or 7 of us...... hope to make it to AAD one day as well as I hear its a good time as well......

That's some GREAT news. I have a long tow and would have come anyway but this sure sweetens the deal. I just called and made my reservations for 2 nights. Hope I can run their regular Saturday night race also. Now I gotta find some time to get the SC/360 out for some much needed "seat time". Maybe this weekend?

I know it is a long tow for some...But I will tell you it is a great track and I will do whatever I can to help you have a good time.

can we camp at the track, like with a tent and sleeping bag or do i have to sleep in my car

As the event approaches, it's starting to look like Mason-Dixon is going to be a busy place on Saturday the 28th.  Our plan at this point is to do our best to get everyone involved with the AMC event over to the far side of the track.  If you thought Cecil was "logistically challenged" before their major overhaul of the pit area was completed a few years back, M-D is probably a little worse. So, to avoid having to cross over behind the starting line to get to the staging lanes and Tech, we decided we will do everything we can to run the event out of the far side of the facility to avoid splitting things up; Car Show, Vendors, Pits, everything.  There should be plenty of room with room to spare.  In addition, with gates opening at 9:00, it is our recommendation to be prompt.  M-D's website schedule has gates opening for their regular Summit Series ET race at 1:30 so, our intention is to be into our eliminations by then.  In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for good weather and we'll see you there next weekend!

I have a couple items that someone might want and I can bring to the show IF I know by Thursday afternoon.
 
1) Draw-Tite 2" receiver hitch for a Jeep Comanche. No ball end, just the receiver hitch and mounting bolts. New are around $200, I'd like $125 for this one (or I'll swap even for a universal type 2" receiver hitch -- class III). I can cut and modify this one for my J-10, but if someone can use it for a Comanche...  I don't know if it would fit a Cherokee or not.
 
2) Draw-Tite hitch for a 63-66 Classic/Marlin/Ambo. Not a receiver hitch, the old-fashioned hitch that was originally made for it. There is a flat bar with one hole on each end that bolts to the sills just behind the bumper mounts and a vertical plate in the center that bolts to the bumper using the two lower license plate holes (which need to be drilled larger). It's the hitch in the accessory book. Solid, but the thin chrome is gone. Painted it would look great! Maybe paint car color...All you can see is the tongue that sticks out, of course. Prices for these are all over the place, from $9.95-$395 on e-bay. I would think $65 would be a fair price (the cheap ones on e-bay are universal, don't know what it fits, and a bit rough -- the pricey ones are NOS with good chrome and fit popular cars).

I've been fighting with the idea of driving my car or the family mobile. I really don't live too far, but it will be my first long trip with the Javelin. I'm about two and a half hours away in the north east corner of Maryland. The idea of a breakdown does'nt excite me too much. I'll probably be leaving about 6am saturday, and I do have AAA in case of a breakdown and sure fellow amcers would stop if needed.

My missus and I will be coming in around 2 or so and staying at the host hotel. I think I'll bring the car and trailer down to the track and leave it there if you are willing to "baby sit" overnight. That will be a lot easier. I'll give you a call on Friday after we get checked in.

We will be there w/ the WIBG Gremlin late Friday afternoon.  Might bring the dragster along for the Saturday evening program, have to see....  Weekend weather's shaping up to be pretty good too.  Looking forward to a strong turnout and seeing everyone again , DON'T FORGET, ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE TRACK!!!

We had a great time seeing everyone and meeting some new people.  It’s an easy tow to Mason Dixon, the announcer did a great job and the race seemed to be run smoothly.  There was a nice open grassy area for the show cars to park and plenty of room for the vendors.
It sucked that we didn’t bring a car, we hope to have one there next year.  Thanks to all the organizers!
Oh and the tee shirts looked great as always, congrats to the Ketchum’s for getting on the T’s!!!
