What did you have to modify?
I may be in the market for a Javelin cage also.

Ensure what you are getting, most kits can be bought seperate, nhra requires 1 3/4 for a bar so if you get one thats 1 5/8 then it will not pass tech.

Doesn't that depend on the number of attaching points? Example, 6 pt 1 5/8 no good, 10 pt 1 5/8 is OK.

Size and Thickness also depends on if Crome Moly or I like to use DOM tubbing myself..

DOM stronger , lighter and I think you can use a smaller tube when using dom , but check the rule books . RTFM.
I,ve never bought a cage kit to put in a car . they all have been custom made to fit the car and driver .
I traded a 28 ford sedan body shell and 500 bucks for the set up I had done in The Lil Gremjin . an they tweaked the frt down bars in a bit to make it easier for me to get in an out . I can grab the bar an lift my handicapped fat self in an out , and the bar is placed well within allowed rule book specs . Ha ha tech Fuggers ..77.

size is based on whether it is a roll cage 1-5/8 (includes front windsheild bars)
or a roll bar 1-3/4
thickness is based on material
chrome moly .083
mild steel or DOM .118

Steel weighs the same, material choice allows smaller tubes and thickness

Come on Tony you know better than that. Wink
The thickness is based on matierial .
Tubbing size is based on what kind of cage / bar you are installing.
Also in some cases which bar it is, as in support and cross bars.
But the main hoop in a  roll bar such as a 6 point has to be at least 1-3/4 and a roll cage such as a 10 or more point has to be at least 1-5/8
As Tony said DOM or (drawn over mandrel) is the same weight as mild steel tubing it still has to be at least .118 at the radius so you need to start with thicker tubbing

I think we just said the same thing Wink I was refering to braces that allow smaller diameter tubes when using chromoly.
