Thats a ton of work for some fins but it looks very nice.... questions... How heavy did it turn out compared to a steel pan, is it heavier? and is that pan gonna take a hit or even a hard scrape....??? And you obviously have some good fabricating skills and the drive to do it, so why not an aluminum sheet metal pan?

My quess is that main thing with that is the looks. I wouldn't put that in a race car but for some old school build YES! Looks very cool!

"is it heavier?"

It is MUCH heavier than original! But it looks million times better than it never would...  Cheesy

"and is that pan gonna take a hit or even a hard scrape"

It is made of the same alloy than this "aluminium man" makes race car wheels! And walls are at least 1/4 "!

This professional (retired) "aluminum man", who lives close to me, has done almost everything that can be made of aluminium... I asked if he could cast some gasser wheels or AMC blower intake... No problem! Only if I can fabricate a suitable pattern for him... I have known him over 25 years, but never before asked him to do something for me and my projects! What a fool I´ve been! Have to go to my garage and hit my head with sledgehammer!! Twice!!

What do I think?
I think you could sell a ton of them!
I like your "not taking no for an answer" attitude. All to often AMC'ers stop looking if a part isn't listed in a national parts book. I've had plenty of parts made for AMC that were not in a catalog or sometimes they carry the part but just didn't put it in the catalog.
Why don't you cast a matching air cleaner lid that is embossed with the AMC script or something? With finned Offenhauser or Edelbrock valve covers it would look awesome!

We all saw the GMC lung under the oil pan pics you posted. IF a person had the time, the talent, help, an AMC V8 and that supercharger they COULD cast a workable blower intake.

I thought Indy would make them if they had someone that would commit to a few or so?

Yea, completely agree, and totally respect the workmanship that went into it, would luv to watch the metal process.... As others were saying, no doubt if you could put a decent price on it you would sell plenty. Great job man. Smiley

Looks real nice.  I have done some casting and was watching your progress.

However, one thing I have learned, don't count on getting rich selling expensive stuff to the AMC crowd.  Tongue

Testing... Prototype needed some grinding and sanding... inside.

Tomorrow I´ll take it to the machining shop.

It gives 2 liter more oil volyme, compared with original Jeep oil pan... It means 1/2 gallons...

Just a suggestion, if you make any more I'd put a boss on the side of the pan for a drain.

Sorry, I couldn't see it. Will it clear the transmission bellhousing?
