"Michigan pattern" (Read 1384 times)

old_and_rusty Forum Junkie High Performance AMC Hardhead Posts: 782 Gender: Cleveland, OH	"Michigan pattern" 05/01/12 at 01:41:05 For those who know, there are two very similar but different dimensions for adding the extra head bolt on AMC's. One is Indy Cylinder Head and it is known as the "Indy pattern". The other is Kevin Fontenots'. I'm asking your opinion about calling Kevins' dimensions the "Michigan pattern". Talk among yourselves.

Why do we need a nickname for Kevin's Pattern? What's wrong with calling it "Kevin's Pattern"??? Just like Adkin's or BA's..???

But hell Oldy if your in the nicknamin mood... I am game......

Michigan Wingnut, The Ripley Watoosi, The Beckley Bomber, The Dixie Twist, The Indy Chitty..... those are just some ideas for the ones I know of.....

Before long we will have our own AMC language.....

MAn I dropped the TA block off at the Michigan hotspot to get it Michigan'ed and Obama'ed out to 30 Ripley's, Then Mikey Luke is sendin me some HS 1.7 Duck Bills. Then I am gonna do the Norm Grind in the timing cover along with the Dreamer gasket tweak. Finish it all off with an Up Your Valley cause who really knows, and then fillin her gut with some Landis Shake and Bakes with ARP's floatin in a set of Ralfy's Cleveland Dreamer flat tops with a Parkman in the lifter bores. The heads were flowing like a Smurf so I dropped them off at the coal mine for some work.....

FYI, This is a post from Kevin Fontentot that I borrowed from Mike's site:

The first design and part number is for that gasket without any water or extra head bolt holes. The second version and part number has the coolant holes and extra head bolt holes. These are only for the Indy block. I can provide those part numbers if someone is interested.
I do have my own drawing for stock blocks. All heads/blocks that I add the extra head bolts to have the same locations. ""
