I am woefully behind in getting my race motor ready and have a quick (and possibly dumb) question.  I'm running older Brewer heads with a simple tunnel ram intake that has no coolant passages.  The water ports on the Brewer heads are at the bottom of the casting for some reason...  Is there any reason why I couldn't run an external crossover at a height near that of the top of the head in order to make sure I have efficient cooling?  Any other suggestions (other than modifying the intake)?
