my 2016 race season
11/06/16 at 21:09:31

raced the outlaw 10.5 series at my local track, New England Dragway. i slowed the car down using a slide n go restrictor plate system that is very similar to the ez plate set up, i raced the 11.50 index, my stats for the year are below

4 wins
4 final round appearances
3 #1 qualifiers
led the points from start to finish
2016 outlaw 10.5 real st champion

i beat a chevy in the semi's and in the finals on super chevy weekend, that was cool as heck putting AMC in victory lane at a chevy event! its special this year also as its the 50th anniversary for the track and i got the championship!!!

thanks Andy

had a great race season for once, won the first outlaw 10.5 race of the year so i figured i had to keep going until i lost the points lead atleast. had a great points battle with last years champ Rich Corsenza and his 427 powered 4 speed 66 chevelle, also there to try n take out the AMC was Ralph Blackburn with his B&M blown small block Malibu, Ralph took me out first round at the 4th race and i thought my reign was over, i had made it to the finals in race #2 and won #3. not the case! i made the finals the next 3 races getting #1 qualifer 2 of them and stretching the points lead. race 6 and 7 we run back to back on the same weekend, it was over 90 degrees with crazy high humidity both days.....both days i made it to the finals but couldn't get it done either day. the next big race was on Super Chevy Weekend and those Chevys just handed me the win that day, see, in the semi's i rolled in a little too deep and shut off the bottom bulb but the starter hadn't set the tree off yet so i put it in reverse, backed up 3 inches to get my bulb back and before i could get it back in first the tree was green and Rich in the chevelle was 4 cars out on me, so i take off after him thinking i really crappity smacked this one up and i watch him run it out the back door AND BREAK OUT, so i just let off and coasted to the WIN in the finals i line up against Ralph and the Malibu, i tree him pretty good which is a surprise, he's good on the tree, we run out the back door and he breaks out by .003 giving me the win and the super chevy trophy!
so anyway, this race season i set a personal goal for myself which was to win 2 races and one of them i really wanted was the night race, Jet Cars Under The Stars as the final for that race in our series is run late in front of the big crowd, on that day we get there at 7am, run 2 qualifying rounds and eliminations then sit around till the finals which like i said is run late.....like 11pm late! well the day started out pretty good when i got #1 qualifying position, taking out 2 chevys, a mustang and a firebird to get to the finals, i line up against a guy that has never ever run the series and was just there to get a little seat time and what do i do........I GO PHUCKING .012 RED and handed him his only win of the season....man was i pissed!

so all in all it was a good season
4 wins
4 #1 qualifiers
3 final rounds
led the points from start to finish and as a result i am the

2016 10.5 OUTLAW REAL ST. CHAMPION
